It was the get paid to learn that attracted me to roofing, but I ended up loving it once I started training. You get to learn everything and then apply it to the job site you’re assigned to and work and learn on the job. I’m three years into it and I’ve never looked back.
I always liked working outside with my dad and uncle growing up, so I knew I wanted to go into a trade, I just wasn’t sure which one. After I went to a trade show expo, I liked the work that roofers did. Every job site has taught me something different and the people are awesome to work with.
If you like heights, this is for you. You get to be up and outside on the job and I really like that. The best thing is getting to see the finished job after it’s all finished.
